SPRING!

It has been a whirlwind this week.  By that I mean our schedule AND the wind.  All of a sudden, I realized, "Hey! It's Friday afternoon!  I haven't sat down at the computer and written my Friday Fave Fives!"  So here I am, taking a breather, sipping some herbal tea (sweetened with local honey), and focusing on what has blessed me this week.

1.  Safety.  A friend in Oregon texted me one on Wednesday and asked, "Are you OK?"  I had no idea what she was talking about, so I checked our weather channel.  Hmmmm, we were in line to maybe have a tornado??  The blessing is that we avoided the tornado warnings and 'only' got crazy rain and thunderstorms.  I'm thankful my friend alerted me and that we remained safe.

2.  As I was cleaning out my purse today, I came across a small torn bit of paper with a quote on it:  "With walking, familiarity breeds happiness."  Kevin Fossett.  Normally, one reads that statement--'familiarity breeds contempt'.  But with walking your neighborhood, your local paths, familiarity, breeds happiness.  This week has bred happiness for me as I have stuck to walking close paths.

3.  I can't help it!  I adore farm houses and old barns.  Driving even within a few miles of my home, I encounter those wonderful places.  This barn just reached out and touched me with happiness.

4.  I have been experiencing some severe pain in my left hand.  I needed to see a doctor and fortunately I was able to schedule an appointment with a hand specialist in one day!  The diagnosis is that I have 'trigger finger'.  The treatment was a steroid injection.  The pain is subsiding and we will see how things progress.  I am SO SO thankful I was able to secure a quick appointment and receive the help I needed.

5.  SPRING is here! (not that the weather is aware of that)  The daffodils are blooming!  Nothing speaks spring more than daffodils!  I am thankful for both the equinox arriving and the flowers blooming.

So my friends, let us be thankful and breed happiness and enjoy SPRING!

I walked in the woods in Luke’s new development with the family today with the goal of finding antler sheds. Guess who found one? Sadly, I couldn’t re-hide it for one of the children to find. I had left them to find my way back to the car and had no idea where they were or where the hill was where I found the antler!
The photos are lovely. Mary

Love, Love you header with the beautiful daffodils! Such a beautiful saying, too, for walks in our own neighborhoods. I'm glad your finger pain was quickly treated and healed.

So glad you were able to dodge that a tornado! Old barns aren't seen much anymore. The younger generation is tearing them all down and putting up new metal ones. I remember when my grandfather's barn had to be torn down about 15 years ago. I cried and cried! Such fond memories of that old barn. I'll be praying that the injection helps your pain! YES, amazing you could get into ANY doctor in one day! My daffodils haven't bloomed yet but they stand ready! All around me I see them bloomed out. They must be waiting for me to not be paying any attention! LOL!
Hope you have a blessed weekend!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that quote!! i bred happiness by doing a solo hike in the ADKS yesterday, overcoming my fear of hiking alone (it was EASY trail system) and my cup runneth over. (I posted pics on FB and instagram).

Glad you're safe. We also had a LOT of wind..today we stil do. Today feels like winter again although my crocuses are up and the sun is out. ground all bare. Yesterday felt like a wonderful spring day. Weird weather this time of year here in NYS anyways.

I love that you love barns..my sister Hope would join in by snapping pics of them.....my new thing is old churches. I found one yesterday from the early 1800s at the place where i was hiking!

I'm glad the main force of the tornado missed you. I love spring blooms, too--such a boost after a long winter. I'm so thankful you were able to get in to see a doctor quickly and get some help for your hand pain.

Hello I hope you hand continues to get better. So glad you weren't in the tornado's path. I love daffodils and we have some around here too. I love the old barn pictures. There aren't many of those here in the city where I live. I hope you have a great week! See you again soon. :-)

Wonderful to see daffs in your neck o' the woods and that the barn isn't snow-covered! Hope your hand pain is solved by the steroid and that you won't have a recurrence.

Glad you stayed safe and I hope the injection continues to work and reduce your pain. We have seen lots of signs of Spring here but today we have had wintry showers!
