There and Back Again

We are home from our wonderful England adventure. Our main purpose in going to London was to spend time with these two very special people--our Chaplain Dan and his wonderful wife. We flew 'over the pond' with HER and met HIM in London and spent two wonderful weeks exploring a beautiful country and just enjoying THEIR company.

We spent the first week reveling in the hospitality of Barbara and her husband Alan. Meeting a blogging buddy from half way around the world was a dream come true for me. Barbara and Alan showed us Essex, a part of England that we were unfamiliar with but learned to appreciate when seen through their eyes. Thanks so much!

We also reconnected with an old friend from Papua who now lives near London and enjoyed seeing Kent through HER eyes.
I am still working my way through waaaay too many photos of gardens and buildings and historic sites and thinking about how to best show you England through MY eyes.
What do you want to see first?

Welcome Back Willow! I missed you!
Your vacation sounds so similiar to mine. Visiting family and friends and seeing the world together is so amazing. Have fun sorting through those pictures.
Believe it or not, I'm still working on it... But it keeps my memories fresh.
Take your time!!

We are looking forward to seeing everything - but have a special fondness for Essex, my childhood home.
Glad you had a great trip. You deserved it.

Welcome back Willow......

So pleased to read that you had a wonderful trip to England and enjoyed a special time with Barbara and Allan. Yes, I quite agree, meeting up with a blogging friend is a dream come true.... as I speak from my own experience of meeting up with Betty in May. Like you with Barbara, I have much to write about my time with Betty, however, Betty’s husband Edward has been seriously ill, so I shall resume my American story in due course.... Edward is out of hospital now thank the Lord and starting to recover.

It is difficult to decide where to start recalling so many exciting event..... why not write it like a journal. Glad you are back safe and sound. Look forward to your news. Marion.

What a wonderful trip. I loved England when I was there over twenty years ago. I especially liked Cornwall. Doesn't England feel like home? I felt very comfortable there.

Am looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing about the Essex and Kentish countrysides!

Welcome home! It sounds like you had a wonderful time connecting with dear ones and seeing places you wouldn't have otherwise seen. Sounds like my kind of adventure. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos as you post them. I think I want to see your favorite photos first... you know... the ones that when YOU look at them they take you right back there and make you happy.
