Overload

After Twelve Days of Christmas and however many months that the retail markets try to sell anything related to what it labels "The Holidays", I feel like I've seen enough RED and GREEN to last a lifetime. My eyes yearn for a restful palette.
Violets on an antique lavender rimmed plate to hold my chocolate covered cherries.

Hershey's Dark Chocolate Kisses wrapped in royal purple light up the reflections in the swirly round oil globe.

Even the sunlight shining through a prism casts cool soothing lavender and purple splotches on my blue area rug.

I just put the green and red yarn in my knitting basket away because I was tired of those colors too. I'll be ready to start thinking about what to do with them around October or so, but for now purples and violets are much nicer.

Talk about overload...there's too much RED here, every corner, shop, mall, loud new year music blasting away and well..an overload of red. Those chocolates look real yummy and that burst of colour on the rug is so cool :D

Good morning Willow. Thank you for your visit yesterday. So you are a fellow Portlander....though currently residing in California.

I am enjoying looking around your site. Purple happens to be a favorite color of mine also. It is a color of hope and joy to me.
Those chocolates sure look tempting too.
Blessings to you.
