Surfin' USA

Ventura Beach style.
Surfers Point in Ventura is a popular surfing site.

But this guy seems to be unclear on the concept.

So is he:

And on a totally unrelated point, I have a question to ask all of you, my readers.  I have noticed through the years that some bloggers always respond to readers' comments in their own comments section.  Do you ever go back and read the comments and responses?  Would you like it if I were to do write responses to your comments?  Please let me know your thoughts on this in my comments section.  Thanks!

He's on a lookout for the waves I guess....haha :) Yes, I've seen many replying on the comment section, but I never commented on my own post as I doubt if people goes back to read my reply. Maybe it works for you Kak Willow.....but I thought that blog-hopping is already taking up time...so going back will be more 'pening', but do try and see your blog buddies like it :) Selamat tinggal..for a short time..saya pergi holiday sekejap :) hugs...M

Ah, the beach... I never tire of a beach view! :o) I know a lot o bloggers who respond to the readers in their comment section. I do so occasionally when I notice several readers asking the same question, for example say. But as a reader, I have to admit that I rarely go back and read the comments that I have posted elsewhere to see if it is responded to. I used to respond to all friends readers via personal e-mail. It just takes too much time... LOL! So I gave a while ago. But A response to a question is always very nice though, either in the comment section or by email. Do what you feel works for you, Willow :o) Happy Week ((HUGS))

I suppose i could subscribe to the thing that alerts me to further comments on your blog if you are going to start doing that, though I usually don't re-check blogs for further comments.

I have noticed the same thing, but am not inclined to do so myself.
One blog friend sends me lovely e-mails as a response to my comments. This takes time, but I LOVE her eforts and her personal interest in me..And this way I don't miss any of her kind thoughts.
Best thoughts to you as well, Willow.
I love the ocean for thoughts and contemplation and I love the mountains for splendid hiking...

Hey I appreciate a well toned surfer showing off his pects.

I only go back if I asked a question or said something particularly snarky.

Your post made me realize I need to take a trip to the beach while we're having this unusually warm weather.

As far as responses to comments... I had the same dilemma. I don't go back and read comment threads to see if a blogger has responded to my comment, so I made the decision that if I wanted to respond to a comment on my own blog, I'd simply send them a private email or comment on their blog if they had one.

I do go back and read blogger's responses to comments but only if I asked a question or made a comment that I thought might provoke a response. Or if another commenter asked something I was interested in.

As a blogger, I do respond to a question asked in the comments or a comment that seems to need a response. But the truth is, there is most often no need to respond to comments, to my way of thinking.

I love that second picture! It made me snort (which is a good thing) :) As for comments, I respond to the ones for which I have an email address, but I don't respond in my own comments to comments (which doesn't mean it's not a good idea, but as I don't tend to go back to the comments section of someone else's blog to see if they've responded to me, I assume that other folks wouldn't on mine).

I always wonder this myself! I forget to go back to other's posts. I think it may be easier to comment in the next post to the group because I don't think people go back often. I try to email those with emails but a lot of people don't give them. I read the comments in my email so I don't really pull up old posts on my own blog.
