It's (almost) Spring!

Friday Fave Fives.  Here is Willow's Week in five little peeks into my life.  Are you looking forward to spring as much as I am?

1.  Most the days this week have been sunny and almost warm.  That makes me so thankful!

2.  Mystery plants popping up in my new front garden area.  Maybe hyacinths?  And tulips?  Stay tuned for identification when the flowers bloom.

3.  We found an off the paved trail hiking (and mountain bike) path.   And this was sitting on the side perched on a downed tree.  I love finding those hidden trails!

4.  A knitted sweater has been sent to celebrate a new baby boy.  Of course I forgot to take a photo of the finished sweater before I popped it in to the mailing box.  Just imagine a 6 month sized cardigan with a hood made with the darker grey and stripes of the lighter grey.  And another two year old green sweater has been started.  Hopefully, I will remember to take pictures of that one.

5.   Do you ever do this?  Lately, I have had to drive about twenty-five miles each way for some physical therapy appointments.  Driving on the highways is boring.  So I've been  returning home via alternate routes. I love taking the country roads and learning about the area where I am living.  What makes this a fave?  I can explore and I have gas in my car to do it.  And it's even more beautiful because it's ALMOST SPRING!

Oh my gosh I am SO ALL ABOUT your #5. I do this ALL THE TIME when coming down from the mountains to avoid the Northway. I just love exploring all the towns and roads and seeing all the waterfalls I would have missed if I had taken the main drag to the ADK Northway. (look that up on google to know what im talking about hahahah) I do NOT tend to do that in the catskills though as i don't know my way around those mountains like i do the adirondacks. I'd probably end up in NYC or NJ! haha

LOVE the spring greens coming up. You guys are clearly south of us as we don't have the tulip stems or leaves shooting up yet.

I'm guessing the baby boy sweater is darling.

I hope you enjoy a sunny weekend!

I believe the second photo is tulips. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes up at my son and d-i-l's new house this spring. We're enjoying some spring temperatures this week, too. Knit sweaters are so nice, and knowing that a friend made them is even better.

Hello. So glad you are enjoying spring in Ohio. I also like to explore new areas and find new routes to where I want to go. Sure hope the physical therapy is helping and healing. Have a good weekend.

I love going off the beaten path. Lots of fun discoveries on those side roads. Freeways are boring. What fun to see those green shoots pop up. I should walk about the property and see if anything is happening here. Thanks so much for the Birthday card. It was a sweet surprise.

I enjoy taking backroads, too! My dad lives about 25 minutes away and what used to be a drive that I never looked forward to (because it was highway) is now really nice. We take the country roads and see the change of seasons. I forgot to list spring bulbs coming up in our yard, as one of my faves! As I type this, they are being covered in snow!

Yes I think you're right about hyacinths and tulips but will be nice to see them when they're in bloom. A round about drive when you have time is always better than a boring highway! Have a good week.

Oh, yes, I love to drive the backroads, and there are plenty of those in Ohio. Have you been to Holmes County yet? That was a favorite drive for my late husband and me. Also, Hocking Hills. With your love of hiking, Hocking Hills is a must. So fun to follow your journey in Ohio. I do miss my life there. I can imagine the gray sweater, and it sounds divine. I admire your knitting skills. That is something I do not have, so I very much appreciate the knitting of others. Love seeing your bulbs sprouting. I do long for Spring, especially now with the 3 feet of snow that was dumped on us Sunday. Enjoy your day! Hugs.

How lovely to have bulbs that happily naturalize! Those mystery plants look like they might be something lovely for your first spring in OH. We will just have to image how adorable a baby hoodie would be :-)
