Thankful for Travel

This will be short and sweet because I have been traveling this week.  On the weekend, I will be able to catch up.  What am I thankful for this week?  Willow's Week in Friday Fave Fives (follow the link if you want to join in)

1.  The opportunity to travel.  It really is a privilege to be able to get into your car, drive away and enjoy a new experience.

2.  Beautiful scenery!  Autumn is a great season to travel as the colors are amazing.

3.  There is so much history to experience!  Colonial Williamsburg.  Jamestown.  (lots of photos will be posted as soon as I can sort them out).

4.  Sometimes it works out to visit long time friends.  One evening, we were able to have dinner with a young man and his two daughters who we have known all their lives.  They came to where we were staying and we had the best time.  His wife and the two little ones weren't available for the longer evening travel, so we didn't see them.  But it was a privilege to have those hours with the ones who could come (especially since he is a busy naval officer).

5.  It is wonderful to know you can return home.

OOH....I can't wait to read about your travels. Sounds like you went to Virginia?? I've never been although it IS on our bucket list for possibly next summer. (my aunt and her husband live in Fredericksburg)

How fun to meet up with the young dad and daughters you know.

Looking forward to the weekend because hubby returns tonight from his missions trip!

Happy weekend

As much as I don't like to travel, I have to admit it's pretty luxurious compared to years ago. Glad you were able to see some neat sites and visit special people. I do like visiting historical sites. This is a beautiful time of year to travel. And coming home is best.

You lucky girl ! That's so nice that you could travel ! That's what I miss; Living in such a little country where you drive 155 miles in all directions and you are in another country, closed or not for Covid reasons !

I love road trips to historical places. And yes, so thankful we can just jump in a car a drive to somewhere new. And that scenery is lovely. Travelling and road tripping is fun but at the same time I, too, am thankful to arrive back home.

Going places is fun but I think the best part of any trip is coming home.
