Last weekend when my friends came to visit, one of them brought me a hostess gift.
This is an ornamental pepper. I have never seen anything like it.
Bright, deep scarlet peppers.
It is named, appropriately, Red Missile.
It is sitting beside the front door, inviting our guests to step in to Willow's Cottage.
Last night The Professor and I accepted an invitation to dinner at the home of some friends. The purpose of the dinner was to introduce us to another couple. We have much in common with both couples and the other lady is a member of the handweavers and spinners guild in the county. We talked spinning, knitting, weaving while the guys, all techy types, talked about whatever techy types talk about. I forsee a great friendship here.
And now, this morning, we are off to the Ventura County Harvest Festival, an arts and crafts fair held every year in October. My impression from the adverts is that it will be similar to the Sauvie Island Fair in Portland I attended for several years as a vendor. I hear there will be a potter there, selling his wares...among other handmade, handcrafted things.
Oh, and on October 20th, there is a Handweavers and Spinners Guild Open House at CSU Channel Islands. Better and better.

I have never heard of an ornamental pepper either, but it sure looks attractive.
Hope you enjoyed the fairs etc.
They are so pretty!! And my favorite color! Sounds like you had a great evening... I love meeting new, interesting people!!!
The craft fair sounds so fun! I'd like to go with you some time.
My most exciting venture of this weekend was a trip to Goodwill to get rid of stuff.
Crafts fairs are one of my favorite things and there will be lots of them coming up in my part of the country.
The ornamental pepper is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Mary
Willow, those peppers look just like the old fashioned Christmas lights! How nice to get to meet someone of like-mind. Hope you enjoy your fair.
Those peppers are gorgeous! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. :)
I love what you commented about on my blog! Besides making me feel good, I have to remember that with my own children! I realized that my mom must have believed that because she always let us work independently (though I was just wishing she'd taught me what she knew about sewing!!) Have a great evening!!!
Thanks for your very interesting comments.
Your Autumn leaf knitting, is that in with the knitting or is is sewn on top? It looks good.
