A Month of Thanksgiving

I noticed on a couple of blogs that people are posting every day in November what they are thankful for.

Today I'm thankful for two things.

1. Rain! It rained here in Southern California and we are all of us (well, almost all of us) happy about it. I'm hoping it will mean the end of the fire season.

2. The strength and energy to hike up the Lookout Trail with Ellen and look out over the Pacific Ocean from 450 feet up~

See those tiny little cars down there?

Even though we were so high above the coastline we could clearly hear the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks at Thornhill Broome Beach.

It had been foggy and drizzly earlier in the morning and you can see in the pictures that the fog and rain clouds were still out there on the horizon.

It was worth the trek up the steep trail to stand and look down on the mighty Pacific Ocean!

These photos are beauties Willow! I can feel the dripping perspiration on the back of my neck just looking at how high we climbed :0)
I like the 30 days of thanksgiving idea too...

Glad it rained there, Willow. I know how the dry shrubs and trees can be a fire hazard.

Wow that is some high climb, but what a view! Breathtaking!

Thank you so much for posting your beautiful pictures. As former Ventura county residents, your photos were a special blessing for us today. We are rejoicing with you for the rain.
